Lyndsey Hughes
Receptionist

Lyndsey Hughes was born and raised in Edgewater, Florida where she graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 2019. With a background in Pharmacology and EMT studies, she has developed a strong passion for helping others. On her free time, Lyndsey enjoys lifting weights at the gym, a passion she discovered in high school, where she was a three-time state top-5 winner. When she’s not at the gym, you can find her painting on canvases or writing poetry. Helping others has always filled her heart with joy and given her a purpose. There's something incredibly fulfilling about making a positive impact in someone’s life, and it brings her immense satisfaction to see others thrive and be uplifted.

Alayna L. Spears, Paralegal
Estate Planning/Trust Administration/Deed Transactions/Business Formation & Operations

Alayna is a native of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She began her journey with our firm as a receptionist in 2021 and has since developed a strong passion for helping clients with estate planning as a paralegal. Additionally, she has expanded her knowledge to various legal fields including deed transactions, trust administration, and the establishment/operations of LLCs and corporations, always ensuring exceptional customer service for everyone. In her spare time, she manages a busy household filled with pets and children. In summary, she excels at multitasking and effectively managing high-conflict situations, ensuring you are in capable hands.

Danielle Keymont, Paralegal
Probate Administration/Probate & Trust Litigation

Danielle is a Florida native, born in Orlando and raised in Brevard County. She moved to New Smyrna Beach following her time at the University of Florida and has developed a passion for the legal field and helping people through the probate process. In her downtime, you will find her in the pool, on the beach, enjoying all that Florida has to offer, or curled up with a book in hand.

Trenton Day, Paralegal
Civil Litigation

Trenton was born in Daytona and raised in New Smyrna Beach. He grew up on a small farm and was completely homeschooled before attending college at the age of sixteen. He graduated from Daytona State College with an Associate of Arts degree. He took the paralegal studies course at the Daytona State College as an elective which sparked his interest in the legal field.

Delaney Anderson, FRP
Criminal Defense/Family Law/Accounting

Delaney graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 2015 while also earning her Associate’s Degree through the Dual Enrollment program at Daytona State College. She became a Florida Registered Paralegal with The Florida Bar in November 2022, initially focusing on civil litigation. Since October 2024, Delaney has enjoyed working closely with clients in family law matters, an area she is especially passionate about, under the guidance of Phil Peterson. She takes pride in providing thoughtful, compassionate support and is a valued member of the firm. Outside of the office, Delaney enjoys spending quality time with her family and taking weekend getaways.

Paula Hathaway, FRP
Adoptions

Paula earned her Associate of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies and became a Florida Registered Paralegal with The Florida Bar in November 2008. She spent 33 years working alongside Attorney Phil Peterson, gaining extensive experience in both family and criminal law. Now semi-retired, Paula focuses exclusively on adoptions. She is especially proud of the thousands of adoptions she has assisted with throughout her career, cherishing the opportunity to help create forever homes and support families during one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Carrie Taylor, Paralegal
Real Estate

Carrie is a longtime resident of the New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater area since 1972, she has deep roots in the local community and an unparalleled understanding of the area’s real estate landscape. Carrie has been a valued member of the firm for more than 10 years and brings over 30 years of experience in the real estate field. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for her deep industry knowledge, steady leadership, and commitment to client service. After many years in management, Carrie has recently stepped down from her leadership role as she begins her journey toward retirement. She is currently working in a semi-retirement capacity, continuing to share her expertise and support the firm with the same dedication she has always shown.
